The Marshall Scholar class is fortunate to partner with the British NGO Kids for Kids in support of the people of Kerkera.

Kids for Kids was launched in Khartoum, Sudan in March of 2001—two years before the armed conflict began—following a visit by founder Patricia Parker MBE to Darfur. Initiated as a (kid) goat loan program with an emphasis on children’s health, the group now operates a full-fledged humanitarian campaign in 21 conflict-affected villages in northern Darfur, serving an estimated 100,000 civilians. While aid from the international community has been concentrated on displaced person camps where conditions are relatively secure, Kids for Kids maintains its unique focus on the unprotected villages of Darfur, committing nearly 90% of its budget to project work on the ground.
